Set of 2, complete. With twenty coloured etchings and two hundred woodcuts by John Leech. History begins with the Romans and invasion by Julius Caesar and goes on through King George II. Very handsome set of two hardcovers, bound in half leather and marbled boards. Five raised bands and gilt titles and designs on the spines. Matching marbled endpapers. 6x9 inches, 320 and 304 pages. Pages have a marbled effect on edges when books are closed. Very good condition.
