Unless you get very close to the card, you won't see any defects. Excellent : A card we grade Exc (Excellent) is one with defects visible to the naked eye at a distance of 20cm. These flaws remain slight and are located only at the edges of the card. Excellent condition is also called Slightly Played. Fine : A Fine card is one whose overall condition is average. This is either because the defects at the edges are getting really serious, or because the defects are both at the edges and in the center. As soon as an Excellent card is damaged in the center, we downgrade it to Fine. Fine is also known as Moderatly Played or Good. Played : A Played card is one that is damaged beyond all doubt. This is the broadest grading, since it includes a large number of possible defects. In general, the card is very damaged, either in the center and/or on the edges. Played is also known as Heavily Played. Poor : A Poor card is a very damaged card. In this category, we include all cards: folded, badly damaged, cards that have been put in water and are warped, and many other sometimes unsuspected states (burnt, for example).
