Written by himself, translated by Thomas Nugent. From a 32 Volume Set, "Autobiography. A Collection of the Most Instructive and Amusing Lives Ever Published, Written by the Parites Themselves. With Brief Introductions, and Compendious Sequels Carrying on the Narrative to the Death of Each Writer." The set printed for Hunt and Clarke, London, 1828. The books are bound in half leather with paper over board covers. Books show light scuffing/wear to corners and edges. There is wear and a touch of leather loss wear to leather at head of spine of Volume 2. Spine label of Vol. 2 is also slightly chipped. Still, a Very Good, solid 2-volume set. Books measure 4 1/4 X 6 1/4. This is a fairly SCARCE set--I have not been able to locate any other copies of this 2-volume set. Individual volumes for the larger set can be found for upwards of $317!! A single, complete 32 volume set was found with an asking price of $650!!
