Discusses issues from territorial expansion and imperialism in the Philippines to the gold standard and women’s suffrage in the United States. Very good condition : pp13-14 of Part II: Philippine Tariff - Imperial Policy (Tuesday, December 17, 1901), has two paragraphs neatly excised from the page; elsewhere the book shows no signs of being tampered with, pages clean. 8vo, flexible leather wrappers, titling stamped in gilt. Shafroth’s name in full lower right corner of cover. All edges marble. Binding good. Slight curl of front cover away from text block. No markings or library stamps. Provenance: Washington D.C. private collection.
