This set of books is a RARE Set - DODSLEY'S "OLD PLAYS" - A Select Collection Of Old Plays in 12v. - 1825. With Additional Notes and Corrections by Isaac Reed, Octavius Gilchrist, and the Editor. London: Septimus Prowett, 1825. New edition complete in 12 vols, This is an amazing set of old books. Bound in nice calf Leather Spines with Marbled Boards and Leather corners. Its kind of a crude binding but so cool as it represents its 1825 age, almost 200 years old. They are in VG+ condition as described above. A splendid collection of plays dating up to the eighteenth century collected by Robert Dodsley, bound in a lovely binding. This collection was first published in 1744 by Dodsley and collects some of the 'best and scarcest of our old Plays. Robert Dodsley was an English playwright, bookseller and poet. This Complete 1825 set in twelve volumes, and with the errata to the rear of the final volume; this edition is uncommonly found as an entire collection. A new edition, with notes and corrections by Isaac Reed, Octavius Gilchrist, and the editor. The first Vol 1 play is " Historia Histrionica " and it goes back to 1699.
