There are a few more on the market right now due to a lot of book dumping as people retire and downsize. Normally you would see this set at auction less than once a year at times. -- N.C. Wyeth is perhaps the greatest adventure illustrator of all time, and one of the greatest of any genre to have graced the pages of books. This highly sought after set is stunning both for the beautiful covers with gold detail framing inset paintings, and the artwork of the incomparable Wyeth. This complete set is a selection of Wyeth's most renowned works of illustration, and some of the greatest adventure literary works in history. Sail with the pirates of Robert Luis Stevenson in Treasure Island, the privateers in Kingsley's Westward Ho!; savor the early adventure of the new world in Mohicans or Deerslayer; or ride with the knights of King Arthur and White Company. There is a reason this is one of the most treasured sets issued by Easton Press. They did offer smaller sized sets and occasionally the covers and spines varied slightly. You will see this set is entirely correct with the appropriate matching covers and NC Wyeth on the spine (not all smaller iterations had them). EXTREMELY rare to get nearly all in the set sealed, let alone with the boxes. I have not seen a set in this condition on Ebay in the last 15 years of dealing books. I pulled the Boy's King Arthur (sealed) from my own library just to get you most of the really rare ones. If I had Scottish Chiefs in the plastic I would have done that for you too because this is so rare. All the really hard to collect ones are sealed save SC. Obviously this is a valuable set not for the bargain hunter, and from a reputable dealer. Please and kindly no unsolicited offers. TITLE LIST: Robin Hood, Black Arrow, Kidnapped, Treasure Island, Mysterious Island, The Deerslayer, Last of the Mohicans, Robinson Crusoe, Drums, Westward Ho!, The White Company, The Scottish Chiefs, Boy's King Arthur, Rip Van Winkle. Condition : 7 (half) are sealed in original plastic and with original boxes. 5 more are sealed in original plastic but not with box. Only two (Robinson Crusoe, Scottish Chiefs) are out of the plastic! Open books: Leather is bright with little sign of any shelf wear. Little marr to gilt page ends save light scuff on outer bottom page ends where they touch when they are pulled off the shelf.
