Pictured here is an 1856 Edition copy of the Poetical Works of Mrs. Felecia Hemans. I would consider this book to be in fair condition for its age, but should probably be handled carefully. The leather cover of the book is susceptible to damage by minor forces and peels easily, as evidence by the pictures. A few pictures may appear to be a different quality - this is true, as I recently updated some photos and left some old photos in, as I did not retake those photos. The ends of the pages look like it could be gold leaf, as that is the color that it glimmers - it's much more attractive to see in person and in pictures. The book has other physical defects, such as some pages appearing a little short, and I tried to get a picture of this. The spine of the book is still keeping it together, but looks to be in the early stages of failing, with a picture provided to show how it's barely managing to stay in one piece. I found at least one dirty smudge in the book and photographed it - there may be others but I didn't search every page. I also found a couple discolored pages from someone leaving a paper bookmark from a magazine inside - it appeared to be somewhere in the range of 40 - 50 years old. Aside from the mentioned problems this is a very nice book to look at with lovely pictures inside. Due to the age of the prints the iron from the ink does bleed on the pages that cover each illustration. It's a neat effect that you can only see in very old books. RETURNS: Returns are accepted.
