Nicholas Rowe, trans. LUCAN'S PHARSALIA. (2 volumes) London: J. Tonson, 1722. Second Edition. Leather. 2 vols. 287p; 310p. A set of two small hardcover books bound in full brown leather with gilt decorations on the spines. Very good condition. The title labels on the spines are handwritten. The edges are scuffed and the front and back covers are peppered with little rub marks. The covers are cracking off, but are still holding securely enough for normal handling. The edges of the endpapers are deeply tanned. Foxing and tanning on the inner pages, but the text is otherwise clean, and all pages are securely bound despite the external damage. I was very glad to find the copy of Call Me John by Richard Cardinal Cushing. I read the book many years ago, but it was lost somewhere in the past. I am looking forward to re-reading it again. It was just as described, the shipping was fast and it was well wrapped. A great value considering it is so hard to find. The seller gets a 5-star rating, and I would not hesitate to purchase from again.
