Complete First Edition set in 8 volumes + an index volume from 1827 added to this set, and uniformly bound. With additional volume "An Index to the Remarkable Passages and Word made use of by Shakspeare [1827]. 9 volumes total. Complete in 8 volumes + an index. London; Charles Knight. Beautifully illustrated pictorial edition of Shakespeare's works. Printed on quality paper. Condition: Good condition. Generalized abrasions to the spines and extremities. Hinges all strong some extremity abrasion. Some abrasion to the gilding. See photos as well, some extremity abrasion. Complete set. All uniformly bound in period half calf. All volumes hinges holding firm, some rubbing to the boards with some wear to the marbled paper covering, some rubbing to the extremities, mostly joints and boards edges. text blocks nice and firm, occasional marks to the pages but mostly clean. Each volume with pictorial title page, some scuffing to the calf corner pieces. Leather supple. Hinges sound. In exceptional condition. This will be well protected for shipping via Priority Mail.
