Hardcovers, 10 volumes uniformly bound in green calf-backed marbled paper covered boards titled and with gilt decorations on the spines. The covers are slightly rubbed. There are remnants of a paper label adhering to the top of the first volume's spine with damage and perforations to the top right portion of that volume's rear board. Vol. 1 (1836): xxviii & 360 pages; Vol. 2 (1837): 404 pages; Vol. 3 (1837): 395 pages; Vol. 4 (1837): 208 & [1] pages; Vol. 5 (1837): 402 & [1] pages with a folding statistical table on the deaths in Berlin due to suicides or accidents over a 17 year period; Vol. 6 (1838): 307 pages with 6 folding plates engraved by d'Angelo; Vol. 7 (1838): xviii & 334 pages; Vol. 8 (1840): 341 & [3] pages with a folding table giving a general overview of the mothers and births which occurred in the principality of Speyer in 1782; Vol. 9 (1841); 180 & [2] and 196 & [2] pages including the first supplement; Vol. 10 (1841): ix, [1] & 312 pages with 3 folding plates comprising the second supplement. There is some occasional minor foxing throughout and some minor dampstaining to the top inner corners of the first and last few pages of volume 7 and 8. A very attractive set. The translation is attributed to Giovanni Pozzi. The Italian editions of Frank's monumental work on public health should not be underestimated as the reform of the professional training of Italian medical doctors is said to have begun with the work of Frank.
