THIS SET WAS HEAVILY ILLUSTRATED AND CONTAINED A NUMBER OF MAPS. THIS SET IS LACKING ALL OF THE ILLUSTRATIONS AND MAPS. IT DOES NOT APPEAR THAT ANYTHING WAS REMOVED--I BELIEVE THE ILLUSTRATIONS AND MAPS WERE NEVER BOUND INTO THIS COPY. THE TEXTUAL MATERIAL IS COMPLETE. Books are clean and show slight general wear. There is some wear and leather loss to corners and spine ends. Gutter wear and some partial gutter cracking evident. Shows some spotting/foxing, primarily to the outermost leaves. Remains a Good set--clean, tight, quite usable. Books measure 5 1/8 X 8. This is a VERY SCARCE set--A SCARCE FEW copies complete sets can be found on other internet booksites for upwards of $2480!!!!!! Individual volumes are being offered for upwards of $154!! I will offer this 3-volume set (lacking the maps and illustrations) for only $500.00 plus $8.50 S&H in the US.
