We have 1,000s of Harvard Classics including some or all complete sets in almost all the Harvard Classics including the first four originally published in 1909 and 1910 - all 70+ printings. We have spent thousands of hours collecting HC books and researching the history of each printing (don't be fooled by sellers that mistake copyright dates for publications dates!). However, considering 70+ sets we own, this is our favorite set! These are not old, fragile, and smelly like some old Harvard Classics are! You can actually read this set! The leather is rich feeling and the printing process is amazing. And, our first edition full leather sets, from 1909/1910, full Morocco leather (Eliot and Alumni Editions, both limited to less than 200 printings each) sell for $20,000 and we have only seen less than 10 for sale over the past decade. Only THREE sets of Harvard Classics have ever been printed in full Morocco leather - two in 1909/1910 (Eliot edition and the 1st edition Alumni Edition) and this Millennium Edition set published by Easton Press! We pack and ship our Harvard Classic sets very carefully. This set will be shipped in five carefully packed book boxes and shipped by UPS ground (USPS is simply too rough on books of this value). This set is bound in beautiful full red leather and most of these are unread (although these are not , there is very little shelf wear - many have not been read, some not even opened!). The books are printed on archival quality paper especially milled for this edition. It is acid-neutral and conforms to all the guidelines established for permanence and durability by the Council of Library Resources and the American National Standards Institute. Printed and bound in the United States of America. These were published by Easton Press and are bound in genuine (full) leather and accented with 22k gold. Each book measures approx. 9"x6" and contains a color frontispiece protected by a tissue guard as well as usual Easton Press luxurious features including full red leather covers, silk moir endpapers, gold gilding and gilting and built-in satin bookmarks. No set of literature matches Harvard Classics and this is the SECOND BEST of all published sets after the four first editions. Your family will enjoy these for years...and decades...and this will pass on to your children and grandchildren. We include Dr. Eliot's 15 minutes a day guide (in print and in electronic form - adjusted by an English Professor to conform the old guide to a new model to read).
