Offered here is a complete set of the fabulous leather-bound 100 Greatest Books of All Time published as Limited Editions by Franklin Library from 1974 - 1982. The books are in pristine, collectable condition. Most have never been read, as evidenced by their tight spines, and undisturbed bookmark ribbons. There are very minor nicks here and there to the gilding on the page edges, but nothing significant that would detract from their collectability. This is an excellent opportunity to build or add to a beautiful library or collection. Franklin was a premium bindery of leather books renowned for their fine craftsmanship from the 1970's to 2000 . There were numerous styles produced - from full leather bindings to quarter-bound leather - where only the spines were leather - to faux leather-look. These are the real deal - the full leather with a sumptuous shelf presence. Each book is bound in a signature color, and exhibits gold foil stamping of the titles and jacket designs. They are printed on archival quality acid-neutral paper and include silk moire endpapers, an expensive hubbed spine, bound-in silk ribbons bookmarks, gilded page edges, Smyth-sewn pages for strength and durability and often contain beautiful illustrations.
