This is a beautiful three volume set called Lee's Lieutenants: A Study in Command, by Douglas Southall Freeman, originally published in 1942, and reprinted by Easton Press in 1991. This leatherbound set is trimmed in gold on the covers and the edges of the pages, and also includes an attached ribbon book mark. These books were a gift to my Marine husband and were displayed on a bookshelf but never read.
