Spines just a bit faded, but the gilt detailing is still brilliant and unmarred. Ribbon bookmarks detached but present. Edges of the endpapers tanned and armorial bookplate inside each front cover, bearing the name of Sir William A.H. Bass, Bart. Very mild foxing on foredges, endpapers, and some margins; otherwise, pages clean and binding tight across the set. Item #176603 Lavishly illustrated with color plates, facsimiles of letters, and black and white drawings. The volumes' individual titles are FROM THE BEGINNINGS TO THE AGE OF HENRY VIII, FROM THE AGE OF HENRY VIII TO THE AGE OF MILTON, FROM MILTON TO JOHNSON, and FROM THE AGE OF JOHNSON TO THE AGE OF TENNYSON.

I was very glad to find the copy of Call Me John by Richard Cardinal Cushing. I read the book many years ago, but it was lost somewhere in the past. I am looking forward to re-reading it again. It was just as described, the shipping was fast and it was well wrapped. A great value considering it is so hard to find. The seller gets a 5-star rating, and I would not hesitate to purchase from again.
