Dollhouse Miniature 5-Volume English Poetry Leather Bound Book Set Artisan RARE Magpie Miniatures is known for showcasing collections of one-of-a-kind handcrafted dollhouse miniatures, carefully curated over many decades by collectors who truly LOVED miniatures. Each find a tiny masterpiece created by talented artisans from around the world. This is a five volume set (Volumes 6-10) entitled The Shepheardes Calender, Edmund Spenser's first published work, appearing in 1579, which is a collection of poems for each month of the year. These are hand-bound books, a truly unique and special set for your miniature library. The former owner, Madame Y, discovered this bookmaker in Japan. Although she was allowed to buy her little masterpieces, the creator would not release her name and prefers to be anonymous, though each one is made with the most impeccable details as perfectly scaled replicas of actual RARE antique books and manuscripts, including the most incredible details such as foxing page by page as they appear in the life size version. This 5-Volume set is leather bound with an elegant gold gilt covers, features a tree motif, molded spines, readable (by magnifying glass) pages and fanciful black and white illustrations and decorations. All the original books she created these replicas from, are no longer in publication, and went out of print long ago. Even her books arrive in an unmarked box, no name. It reminds me of the movie, The Miniaturist, the artist in this movie did not reveal her name either.These are truly the best made books in miniature dollhouse size I have ever come across. I have sold more than 10,000 books in my miniature career. The interior paper is lovely and feels handmade, just truly extraordinary.
