Description

Sacrificing treasured family heirlooms. This rare, leather-bound, three-volume set of the poetical works of John Keats, Percy Bysshe Shelley and Lord Byron has been in my family for three generations. Handed down lovingly within the family over the last hundred years or so, the books have some wear to bindings, as a result of storage, though content is complete. Detached but present front and back covers in the case of the Keats and Byron volumes and a detached front cover and partially detached rear cover in the case of the Shelley volume. Some damage to end binding consistent with age. This can be restored by a conservator if desired. All three volumes include full-page etchings of the authors. All stamped in very small, (1/8" height) dark print on front marbled flyleaf with name of former owner. Books measure 7" in height by 4 3/4" in width. John Keats's Poems , Copyright 1895. Published by Thomas Y Crowell,Company 661 pages. Marbled End papers. Stamped with name of owner on flyleaf. Two opening pages detached ( i and ii and iii and iv) as well as tissue overlay of Keats photo page, though present. Front and back leather covers detached though present. Shelley's Poems, P ublished by Thomas Y Crowell Company, No publication date visible, 705 pages. Marbled end paper at rear, missing marbled end paper at front. Leather covers detached though present. Byron's Poems, Copyright 1927. Published by Thomas Y Crowell Company publishers. 1023 pages. End papers marbled. Front and back leather covers detached but present.
