1920 History Of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations- American Historical Society, full 5vol books set- about 2000 pages full of gravure and images. Unfortunately this set is extremely rare and fragile. The bindings are strong on all 5 books although the 2 larger biographical books have some slight separation from use. the leather on the spines are commonly entirely missing-these are well on their way. during photography as can be seen, some separated and fell off, so don't assume much for the spine identifications although I'll include any pieces that currently exist. This set often is priced around $200/book even in fair to poor shape. It's extremely rare to find all 5. these books are pretty musty even for 1920s... it's almost as if they weren't made with materials made to stand the archival timeframe. I'm not getting signs of growth but there is plenty of foxing on select pages, especially across from images. these books are full of gravures and images of the history of little Rhody. much of the images have transferred to their cross pages as well. the pictures taken accentuate the discolorations more than they appear, so it's hard to say whether they will arrive better or worse than expected but I'm trying to give all of the data. would prefer pickup in person as these are so fragile, plus condition can be confirmed better than pictures allow for 2000 pages of antique books. please feel free to ask for any additional info and I'll try to provide.
