The spine and ends of the cover are gold tooled by hand. The end pages are beautifully marbled. All sides of the book pages are beautifully marbled. These volumes are VERY, VERY HEAVY. Beautiful gold tooling on the spine. The author's name is written on a green colored leather, in gold letters. Printed on archival quality, acid-neutral paper that will last for centuries. The covers are clean, intact, and tightly bound. The pages are clean. There is a pencil inscription on one of the spare front pages, with a message of dedication, written in 1865.
