Description
"P. Virgilii Maronis Opera Varietate Lectionis Et Perpetua Adnotatione Illustrata A Chr. Gottl Heyne. Published in 1767 by Caspar Fritsch, as far as I can tell. 4-Volume set. Quarter leather binding. These books belonged to Craig Kallendorf, the noted Virgil scholar and professor at Texas A&M University, and both have his sticker in them. One is shown in the 6th picture. I am not an expert on antiquarian books. They are in very decent condition for their age, but well used and showing wear. The leather portion is in good condition, showing some wear. The hardcover portion of the covers all show varying damage, as shown in the 4th and 5th pictures, although they are all in good structural condition. Pages are tanned and have some staining. The pages are somewhat wavy and soft - I wonder if they got wet at some point in the past. They are not stiff, though. Please see the last picture. Will be shipped with Signature Confirmation required. We can ship only to the name and address provided by eBay. Thank you!
